Born and raised in the revered city of Tehran, , Ali Amini was surrounded by a rich culture and history. During Ali’s adolescence, he became aware of his fascination with the arts, in addition to his sharp business mind. By 1980, Ali began running a successful clothing company, designing merchandise himself. Still, he yearned for further knowledge in design and arts.


Influenced by his family, he developed a passion for hand-woven rugs. To gain experience, Ali started from the root by repairing and eventually working his way to designing carpets. Upon the opportunity, Mr Amini moved to Canada circa 1992 and started building his name in the carpet industry. By 1997, Ali established Golden Rug Company in Vancouver.

The journey did not stop there as now Ali Amini is one of the most well-known and respected names in the Persian rug business. To this day Ali travels the world to personally select the finest variety of hand-woven rugs, tapestries, pillows, saddlebags, and other assortments of handmade items.
